Mr Cullen first started practicing in the Crown Court in 2006 as a Higher Court Advocate. He has practiced extensively in the Crown Court ever since. He has represented defendants in some of the most high profile criminal cases that has come before the Courts. He has represented in pretty much every kind of criminal offence that the Courts hear. He has represented in fraud, serious violence, murder, serious sexual offences, motoring.
In recent years Mr Cullen has represented in numerous cases involving importation of prohibited drugs and many ‘county lines’ cases.
Mr Cullen has also specialised in representing defendant’s with serious mental health conditions. Mr Cullen has represented many client’s with mental health and mental capacity issues over many years of appearing before Mental Health Tribunals representing patients seeking discharge from hospital. The skills learnt in that field of expertise has assisted Mr Cullen in his representation of criminal defendants with similar issues.
Mr Cullen also has vast experience in Magistrates’ advocacy including the full breadth of criminal offences relating to driving. As Mr Cullen has the litigation extension to his Authorisation to Practice, Mr Cullen can offer full litigation and advocacy services in this area.
